Apple iphone applications for Motorcycling in Japan you may want to check out " Biker Beacon"

So you want to ride in Japan this summer and your thinking about bringing your iphone along for the ride and your thinking what applications are available for Japan?. Biker Beacon have created an iphone application for specifically connecting motorcycle riders. The application "..brings together enthusiasts who love what you love. The features are designed to help you find old friends and make new ones. Biker Beacon allows you to explore what motorcycle events are going on around you in real time as well." The application is compatible with the iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3Gs, and iPod touch with operating system version 3.0. as detailed on their site. The innovation that stands out to me is the event notification. Imagine your out riding and it's a beautiful sunny day and when you stop to take a break, you check your phone for a weather update and you find that there is a bike accessory shop close by with a sale on or a restaurant with a biker friendly attitude introducing their new menu items. Other rider's are close by and you can catch up to swap stories and rides. The "My ride" feature allows you to create your own profile, add a picture and describe your ride. Features include:
* mapping the location of fellow riders in real time.
* ability to add your own events.
* to see where events are happening as they are happening.
* to either share your information or keep you profile private.
* it allows you to update your status on Twitter and Facebook.
* It is available in English, Spanish, French, German and Japanese To see a short video of the application click here.

As summer approaches it is a great time to be thinking about enjoying your next trip and getting prepared, updating equipment and using technology to have a better trip.

Biker Beacon may add to your next trip, check it out!
