If you ride a motorcycle in Japan watch out for traffic offences - red & blue tickets

"Red traffic tickets are handed out for serious traffic offences and a decision is subsequently made over whether the violator will face such action as a summary indictment based on criminal proceedings, receiving a fine, or whether the charges will be shelved. Under a system for drivers and motorcyclists, those who commit relatively minor offences such as parking violations are handed blue tickets and they have points deducted from their licenses and are fined, but are not subjected to criminal punishment."
