Motorcycle riders in Japan get a step closer to free toll free expressways with new study starting in Jine

" The transport ministry announced Tuesday it would start in June a pilot study on 37 expressways across the nation by making sections of them toll-free.

The study will cover 50 sections on the 37 routes, totalling 1,626 kilometers, according to the ministry.

Excluding the Metropolitan Expressway and the Hanshin Expressway, the program would cover 18 percent of the total length of the nation's expressways, the Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Ministry said.

All automobiles and motorcycles will be subject to the experiment and tolls will be free 24 hours a day, seven days a week."
